Pinterest Tuesday-Chore Chart

Image
Happy Tuesday! I wanted to show you all an idea I got from Pinterest for a great editable chore chart that I customized for both of my children.  My oldest has been begging to start helping out with chores, I have no idea why but I am truly grateful, so I did some research for an easy to follow chore chart. I found this Visual Chore Chart on Pinterest a few weeks ago and it is perfect.  I was able to download and open it through Microsoft Word and edit it just how I wanted.  This mom has hers customized with each child's photo and clip art of each chore required of them.  This added bit of character can make even the most tedious chore a little more fun. I made mine just a little bit different.  Under the column with the child's photo, I listed daily "to do's" like brushing our teeth, brushing our hair, reading a book and cleaning up our rooms.  These simple tasks have felt more like "chore's" lately, so they fit nicely.  Next, under each day&

Manic Monday-The Double Birthday Party Weekend

Image
So did everyone make it through Monday?  I dislike Monday's very much, and my crazy cat agrees with me.  He didn't want me to work either today, so he politely took over my desk. Last week was a great week.  I had so much fun with the Ultimate Blog Party, and met a lot of great people.  If I'm not following your blog yet, please make sure to comment with the link and I will! This weekend I had to get ready for my son's 4th birthday party we were having at home, and my dear friend's daughter turned 1 yesterday and I helped with it as well.  6 dozen plus cupcakes, 2 cakes, full decor and cleaning at my home.  I didn't get much sleep, but that's always the big joke everyone says about me.  "How does she do it all?"  "She never sleeps."  Not quite a lie, but I know my limits.  I had a blast though and love having "home made" birthday parties. Bubba had a Cars themed birthday party.  I ordered bottle cap images from a selle

Stash Bash Pinterest Style

Hi again to everyone from the UPB12! 5 Minutes For Mom All this week I have been working up to my son's 4th Birthday Party and a very good friend of mine is having her daughter's 1st Birthday party the very next day.  I am planning BOTH of them.  I have to make 3 dozen cupcakes and two small birthday cakes.  Yikes!  But I am loving every minute of it.  Thanks to Pinterest, the ideas are coming together quite nicely. I'm linking up again to Project Pinterest, sharing great ideas we try out from Pinterest with some really great ladies. Today is Stash Bash day, and I'm using some Pinterest ideas to get me going.  The idea of Stash Bash came from fellow blogger Crunchy Catholic Momma .  The goal is to use up supplies/excess/had-to-buy-it items before buying new things to craft with. My son's party theme is Disney Cars.  Through my searching pin boards, I found this really cute set up .  I really like the flower pots that were turned in to decorations.  I

Pattern Review-The Lily Bird Studio

Hi Everyone! If you are stopping by from the Ultimate Blog Party 2012 through 5 Minutes For Mom , THANK YOU!  Make sure you comment with your blog link so I can follow along with you as well. Pattern Review Wednesdays are going to be where I talk about and review one of my favorite pattern makers and the outfits made from their patterns.  These patterns are my preferred method of dress making.  The directions are always clear and have photos of most all the steps.  Stress free sewing!  The best part about these patterns and what makes them stand out from store bought ones, is that you can use the same pattern OVER AND OVER again for MULTIPLE sizes.  No more worrying about cutting (or tearing) a tissue thin pattern and not being able to use it for the other sizes listed. This week I have chosen to start with Cecilia at The Lily Bird Studio .  All her patterns are in PDF format and you can save them right to your computer.  I have purchased and made dresses with 3 of her pattern

Hi everyone!  First of all I would like to say thank you to everyone stopping by from the Ultimate Blog Party 2012 hosted by 5 Minutes For Mom .  I am so excited to have you all here, following me on Facebook and Pinterest.  I am trying to make sure I visit all of your blogs and follow along, so make sure to leave a comment with your link so I can stop by as well!  It is really great to meet so many of you and I am truly enjoying the experience. This week for my Pinterest Copycat I wanted to make our own magnetic board to display my daughter's artwork.  I found the idea on Pinterest a while back and have been in search of a Dollar Store cookie sheet ever since.  Any other time I would have found one immediately, but they've been scarce lately.  Finally we found one and couldn't wait to get started. What you need: Metal cookie sheet Paint Sealer (optional) Magnets Picture frame hook Paint brush (not required if using spray paint) Magnets Hot glue gun (option
